Does Real Lesbian Porn Exist???

Since beginning the infamous Straightbian series, I have often been called (among many other insults!) a “know-it-all.”

Well, here’s the thing: I do know a plethora about being a Lesbian, but I certainly don’t know it ALL, and I am very willing to admit it when I don’t know something.

And now I don’t know the answer to a question, and so I would like reader input, please.

I recently received a “Dear Lesbian” email regarding the topic of Lesbian porn:

Do Lesbians like porn, and are there any genuine porn websites run by and for actual Lesbians?

(Note: This question was referring specifically to video porn, as opposed to written erotica stories).

f14db258-f68f-44f5-a872-f553f5de2809-1909-00000207afc0edc8_tmp

While I am not interested in watching porn myself (it’s just not my thing), I am curious about other Lesbians’ thoughts, feelings, ideas, and experiences regarding the topic.

(Very) brief Google research revealed that most alleged “Lesbian Porn” seems to be what men want to see (which bears NO resemblance to actual Lesbian sex).

The person who emailed me sent me a link to a website that is supposedly run by actual Lesbians, but their own self-description begs to differ:

“We are real dykes, who identify as lesbian, queer, bisexual, transgender, butch, femme, in-between, shy, exhibitionist, dominatrix, submissive, and other.”

And:

“This website is inclusive to all variations of the gender known as woman (past, present and future women) as well as appearances by men both cisgender and transgender.”

Um…no!!!!!!!!!

Most of their self-description is filled with so much nonsense that it would take a dissertation to address it all, and I hope for my readers, the reasons I say that will be clear.

Most terms they use are not related  whatsoever to LESBIANS!

Most importantly: The word “men” does NOT belong in Lesbian sex, or even in depictions of Lesbian sex, ever, in any context.

Furthermore, their long list of “identities” practically screams SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE SYNDROME!

In addition, Lesbian is not an “identity” that can be adopted or discarded on a whim, and Lesbian is most certainly NOT “queer” (etc.) either.

Ugh! Not sure whether to sigh loudly, grind my teeth, or bang my head on a wall repeatedly. Or all of the above. 😬🙄☹️

So, Lesbian readers, we need your input, please:

1). Are you interested in viewing real Lesbian-ONLY porn (video)?  Are the other Lesbians you know interested in viewing it?

2). If so, have you ever seen what you would consider to be a realistic depiction of Lesbian sex, between actual Lesbians, made by and for actual Lesbians?

3). Whether you answer “yes” or “no” to the above, why did you answer that way? Please explain.

4). Are you interested in reading Lesbian-ONLY erotica stories written by and for actual Lesbians? If so, do you regularly read such stories, and are there any reliable websites offering stories that are written by and for actual Lesbians?

5). Do you have any other thoughts/ideas on the topic of Lesbian porn (or anything related to this topic)?

Thanks in advance for your comments! (If you are too shy to reply in a comment below, you can email me at sayebennett@gmail.com, and I will post for you and not reveal your identity). 🙂

  1. I don’t watch porn and am not intetested in watching it, but I do like reading Xena fanfic stories and lots of them have erotic scenes.

I don’t know the answer about if there are any genuine lesbian porn sites, but I really doubt it. I think there wouldn’t be enough of a market for it. The special snowflakes are the types who would run them.

  2. YES, YES and YES! I’ve seen some lesbian porn stuff on Porn Hub. And yes, when I order free ebooks off Amazon I look specifically for Lesbian Erotica. Hahaha!! Seriously though…

  3. Received via email from another reader:

“WTF is wrong with the people who run that website? Real dykes my fat ass. Real dyke sex is not trans and it never involves men. Duh! Is that why you didn’t provide the link?”

(Answer: Yes. I didn’t want to give any traffic, at all ~ even one click! ~ to a website purporting to be “real dykes” when they clearly are NOT).

I think I would definitely be interested in viewing lesbian-only porn video and I know other lesbians who would be interested.

2). If so, have you ever seen what you would consider to be a realistic depiction of Lesbian sex, between actual Lesbians, made by and for actual Lesbians?
I have never seen a porn video that seemed like it was made with actual lesbians – it always seems like it is made for male gaze.

3). Whether you answer “yes” or “no” to the above, why did you answer that way? Please explain.
I much prefer erotica stories written by and for lesbians, but I would be curious to see videos.

4). Are you interested in reading Lesbian-ONLY erotica stories written by and for actual Lesbians? If so, do you regularly read such stories, and are there any reliable websites offering stories that are written by and for actual Lesbians?
Unfortunately, I have not found specific websites – there are some free kindle books on amazon, but you have to really search for them. I sometimes read wlw fanfiction and that can also be really great. I also occasionally write lesbian erotica…but it is not published anywhere.

5). Do you have any other thoughts/ideas on the topic of Lesbian porn (or anything related to this topic)?
I literally spoke with my fiance about this topic today. We don’t really incorporate porn in our lives anymore – but we were talking about preferences. She said that even when she watches it she rarely actually looks at it and it is more just about the sounds because the actual footage doesn’t seem realistic or like it was made for lesbians ..

loved this piece! thanks for writing.

  5. Received via email: “It is wrong for you to talk about lesbian sex, like a male objectifying women…blah blah blah (radfem theory) yada yada yada.”

My answer: Being a Lesbian is NOT a political decision or a choice. We are romantically, and YES…SEXUALLY, oriented to females. I am not objectifying anyone. Get a grip, Straightbian; and if you don’t like it, don’t read it.

  6. Received via email: “Porn is detrimental to all women. How could you even ask that question?”

My answer: First of all, I didn’t ask the question, I was attempting to answer a reader’s question; although, as I already said, I agree it is a good topic for discussion.

Secondly, I agree that MOST porn is detrimental to women; however, that is not what we are talking about here. It does not seem to actually exist, but, hypothetically, IF genuine Lesbian porn, made respectfully and voluntarily, by Lesbians for Lesbians, actually existed, it would NOT be the exploitive type of situation you are referring to.

So stop trying to police Lesbian discussions, Straightbian.

  7. I’m coming out! I asked the question 🙂 And now I’m answering Saye’s other questions.

1). Are you interested in viewing real Lesbian-ONLY porn (video)? Are the other Lesbians you know interested in viewing it?
Porn has no plot and it’s repetitive. Since that’s the very definition of boredom, to me, no, I’m not interested in porn. I don’t think any lesbian I know is interested, either. They’re much more into having (or dreaming of) actual sex than watching it.

2). If so, have you ever seen what you would consider to be a realistic depiction of Lesbian sex, between actual Lesbians, made by and for actual Lesbians?
I tried, out of curiosity, but couldn’t find anything (that website was awful, BTW).

3). Whether you answer “yes” or “no” to the above, why did you answer that way? Please explain.
Because genderqueer, panqueer, crap-a-queer and the like are not lesbians.

4). Are you interested in reading Lesbian-ONLY erotica stories written by and for actual Lesbians? If so, do you regularly read such stories, and are there any reliable websites offering stories that are written by and for actual Lesbians?
I kind of am, but I find that so much literature is really bad (mostly because it’s unimaginative), and lesbian erotica follows that same trend. I tried reading lesbian erotica, never found much good, only passable.

5). Do you have any other thoughts/ideas on the topic of Lesbian porn (or anything related to this topic)?
    Nope.

    • Thanks! (Love the coming-out analogy, LOL!). I have read some good short stories (at least IMHO) back in the day at the height of my Xena mania :-), but unfortunately, I can’t remember now off the top of my head where I found them nor the writers’ names & I haven’t had time to do any research to locate them. If I do find them, I will post the links. But overall, I agree that I haven’t found a lot of really good writing (which includes a good plot & character development).

      • Please, do share, I’d love to read something good. I also used to read Xena fanfiction, but I must admit, I’m not a fan of fanfiction 😔 I read it, because I wanted to read anything lesbian! Desperate then and desperate now. That’s why I write my own lesbian stories 😀

  8. It’s taken me quite a while to respond to this post, because this topic is a bit of a landmine, but I’m going to come out of hiding and admit that I like written stories. I don’t read a lot of lesbian erotica but I do browse the “lesbian” tag on WordPress occasionally to see what people are writing. There are some lesbians who write good stories on WordPress and there are also some really bad stories that are NOT lesbian and shouldn’t be tagged as such. (One time I began reading a story and it turned out to be a female teacher and a female student having sex in a public place while men watched—BARF!). I think it would be really nice if there was a collection somewhere of lesbian-approved stories. The thing is, if any mainstream outlet did this it would end up being for “queer women” rather than lesbians and it would have to include every identity under the sun. This sort of collection would only be useful if it was collected by actual lesbians and was quite exclusionary about keeping out all the special snowflakes, dudes who wish they were lesbians, and “sex radicals” who aren’t lesbians. I don’t actually look for lesbian erotica very often because it’s a bit scary what you tend to find, but there is some good stuff out there if you look for it.

    • Yes! I totally agree that the only way I would be interested in lesbian erotica stories is if it is REALLY and accurately lesbian; and therefore is NOT written by, written for, and/or marketed to “queer women”. I purposefully ordered a couple of “queer” (allegedly lesbian) books when we were writing our Straightbian series and all I can say is YIKES! I had no clue what those people were doing, LOL!

  9. I’ve seen one lesbian porn. I want to say “Crash Pad”?? Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s much of a market. M4m, mwm, and if w4w the women are bisexual. Nothing wrong with any of the above it just seems like there always has to be cock involved.

  10. I don’t watch porn, but I might watch porn by and for lesbians just for the novelty experience if it actually exists. I would be more interested in reading erotica written by and for lesbians.

    • Yes, I don’t watch porn either, and probably wouldn’t even if it were genuine lesbian porn (just not “my thing”). I would also be more interested in reading authentic erotica…heck, even just plain fiction!

      • I agree, even good fiction would be nice. I’m a fan of sci-fi and action/adventure, but the number of lesbians in those genres is basically zero. I’d just like to read a cool book about lesbians who fight space robots from the fifth dimension without “queer”/identity politics bullshit or the cliché lesbian + straightbian pairing. I guess I’m saying I’d like fiction where other stuff in the plot happens beyond, “I’m a lesbian, therefore angst, and my lover might actually be straight but experimenting, and oh look now I’m dead.”
